Mr. Farmer, Omotesando: juice, salad & veggie donuts

blog1

Happy Sunday! I invited my friend, S, to have lunch at Mr. Farmer in Omotesando. It’s one of my favourite healthy restaurants in Tokyo and the perfect place for a relaxed sunday lunch!

blog2

Mr. Farmer’s produce comes from 50 different partner farmers across Japan, and they’re known for their amazing juices and salads. This is my third visit but the first time I’ve actually remembered to bring my camera to blog about it!

blog3

Mr. Farmer even offers a comprehensive juice detox service. You can order 3 or 5 juices for 3,000 or 5,000 yen, for a half or full-day juice cleanse.

blog4

The self-serve water bar is so cool! Each jar held an infusion of different fruits and herbs with a description of their health benefits.

blog5

I’m definitely going to be adding stuff like this to my water this summer! I recently managed to clear up my breakouts by drinking 2-3 litres of bottled water per day. Tokyo tap water is really not yummy.

blog6

Gotta get that potassium! It never occurred to me to add courgette (zucchini) to water. I usually just add cucumber and mint.

blog7

I really like the decor of Mr. Farmer, too. It’s all leafy, green plants and shiny wood, with really warm and cosy lighting.  Since it was great weather, though, we sat outside!

blog8

I wanted to start off with one of their cold pressed juices. I ordered the Detox -R which was made up of carrot, apple, beetroot, coriander (cilantro) and rosemary. I love the cute little bottles.

blog9

I ordered the Genovese salad plate, which consisted of broccoli, spinach, quinoa, and tomatoes with a pesto dressing, and came with bread, marmalade and a baked potato. I really liked that the salad was mostly vegetables. The pesto sauce was amazing.

blog10

My friend had the egg wraps plate. It looked so good too, I’ll have to get this next time!

blog11

After eating I ordered some herb tea while we sat and enjoyed the sunshine. I wish I could identify exactly what herbs were in that pot, because it was the best herbal tea I’ve ever had!

blog12

Finally, we couldn’t resist the “veggie donuts” listed on the menu. We ordered one Spinach and one Sweet Potato donut each.

blog13

The spinach donuts were so colourful inside! Despite being dusted with a yummy coating of cinnamon and powdered sugar, the donuts actually tasted pretty healthy as well as being yummy. They were nice and crispy outside and soft and mochi-mochi inside.

blog14I love eating at healthy restaurants, especially in Japan, and I’m always trying to find new healthy/veggie places in Tokyo. Hopefully I can make more posts like this for this blog as I discover new ones!
